We're Baaack!

Pretty sure he left some broken hearts behind in San Francisco...those eyes!

My little Christmas Eve elves...you wouldn't even know that Elijah had a fever!

Ian on the Parking Spot shuttle bus at around 1AM Monday morning.

Sunday night, at midnight EST to be exact, we returned home from a whirlwind 10 days in California for Christmas. Paul's father and extended family on that side live out there, most of them in the Bay area, and no one (besides his father) had met Baby Elijah yet (ummm, not so much a baby anymore) so we were due for a visit.

We ran our two boys ragged, as evidenced by their hermit-like behavior since we've returned home. Yesterday, Elijah slept until just after 10. Ian didn't stagger out of bed until 11. ELEVEN AM PEOPLE! Poor little dudes.

Here are some of the fun things we did, in no particular order:

*Visited the Exploratorium. Only one of the coolest science museums, ever!
*Visited the California Academy of Sciences. Aquarium, rainforest, living roof, albino alligator...every delight a little boy could imagine. Plus we were treated to a free visit! (Our Theo Nick is friends with the chef for the museum cafe...and this was not just any museum cafe. We're talking delectable spring rolls, gourmet spare ribs and dumplings and mac 'n cheese and pork tacos and just yummmm...plus our lunch was taken care of too! So so kind of them.)
*Visited the Chabot Air and Space Museum. Ian got to see 2 planetarium shows AND climb around inside a rocket. We also momentarily lost him and his 2 cousins, Mikey and Eleni...panicked until we realized they were with Pappou (Paul's father) in the parking garage. I had my first ohmywordWHEREismychild moment. Not fun. But everything else there was SO fun!
*Pier 39. Stinky sea lion breath. Need I say more?
*Ate more Greek delicacies than we could hold. Our family can cook, coast to coast.
*Visited Paul's Nouno (godfather) and Vicki's Nouna (godmother). They truly loved getting to know the newest 2 Kotronis men.
*Walked Muir Woods. Giant, giant redwoods. Breathtaking.
*Got to know Ian's cousins Mikey and Eleni better. Ian spent a few nights with them and they are now his "best friends", as he told me the other day.

I didn't get to see Alcatrez, which has been on my to-do list for some time. Tickets were all sold out by the time I got around to looking into it. I also wanted to get some sunset photos of the Golden Gate bridge with my sweet new camera (Paul got me a Nikon D5000 for Christmas!) There's always next time! We really just enjoyed spending time with family that we don't get to see very often. It was busy, but also relaxing. We did all get sick, though...Elijah started it all with a 103.7 fever on Christmas Eve. Let me just tell you, air travel when you're congested is no fun. Recouperating at home this week and getting ready to head up to NC tomorrow for yet another Christmas celebration! Photos to come once I figure out how to get them off my new camera.
